I know I promised this thing three maps ago, but it's finally here: the Official Server Arena, also known as the Ender of Men Arena. It's huge, has several neat features, and will continue to improve as we add more to it.
To inaugurate this auspicious occassion, tomorrow (or later today as the case may be) we will be holding the first event. It's going to be every server player VS the server staff in a "Storm the Castle" style event. Now, some info:

A wonderful gathering of players and friends.
Every time there is an update to minecraft, we wait until Bukkit releases the recommend build for it. This often leads to players updating and unable to connect to the server. Though some players purposely do not update so they are still able to play on the server. Now what better way to have fun with everyone then to throw a random party!

Yesterday Snorlax_slayer spontaneously organized a memorial for the recent events in Norway. This is what he had to say about it:
Today, we discovered how much empathy, kindness, and support Akintudne’s server community has. I am proud to state that over 30 players gathered at the new memorial for the children and adults that were lost in the horrible incidents that occurred in Norway. I was honored to have built the memorial and confidently held an inspiring speech whilst we all had a moment of silence to show our respect.

Griefmas is officially over. Personally I think it was the best one ever, especially in part because we were able to choose to end it. Rollbacks occurred smoothly, map back, protections back, money reverted (although some of you may still have managed to keep some of your illicit akin). The only slight bump is that all of the nicknames somehow managed to survive the transition. I believe I've removed all of the Griefmas nicks, but if not rest assured that the staff will change it soon.

Griefmas will be from 5 pm MDT (GMT -7) July 1st to 11 pm July 2nd. Basically, it will start in a little less than 15 hours, from the time of this article, and last for 30 hours. Still, DO NOT update your client or you will not be able to participate.
